“THE OFFICE HELP IN YOUR ORLANDO FL OFFICE ARE TERRIBLE ! ! !
To be fair, your service technician, Ronald Graffis, provided excellent service diagnosing and replacing my backflow valve. He has worked on my home multiple times and every repair has been spot on, done right, and done quickly. I have no issue or complaints about Ronald. IMHO he is a keeper.
HOWEVER, your office pulled a building permit to replace the valve, and despite MULTIPLE calls from me to the office, they have not succeeded in scheduling the inspection to close out the City of Leesburg building permit. The work was done 10/14/2024. I have contacted your Orlando office once or twice a month since October. Today I tried 3 times to call your Orlando office (407-863-2760 – IVR Option #1 for "Florida Team") and each time spent nearly 10 minutes on hold waiting for someone to pick up. No one did.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ! ! ! When I have succeeded in getting through to someone over the last 4 months, I have been given multiple (silly) reasons for why the inspection has not been completed: for example: "Hmm, We don't know why it hasn't happened yet", "We must have misplaced the request", "The number we called said we had to call the Leesburg Public Works Department"
Today I called the City of Leesburg number on the front of the permit, and in a 5-minute call they were able to schedule the inspection for tomorrow. Assuming that the inspection is successful, and the building permit is closed out, I will then bill your Orlando office in the amount of $150.00 to compensate me for my time in doing your staff's job and for your company's failure to fully complete the work for which I paid you in a timely manner.
Should my invoice not be paid, I will have no choice to pursue the matter in Lake County Small Claims Court. If I file in Small Claims Court, I will be asking for the following:
Failure to complete contract: $1,400.00 (Full amount of the contract)
Value of my time on this matter: 250.00 (2.5 hours @ $100.00/hour)
Triple Damages (Punitive) 4,950.00 (per UCC – Failure to complete contract)
=========
Total Claim to be Filed: $6,600.00
For the record, I have never lost a suit filed in Small Claims Court. I am retired, after a 50-year business career in Fortune 50 companies, multiple graduate degrees in Business, and have nothing but time. My experience has been that when a large organization fails to complete a contract for an individual homeowner, with no effective mitigating factors (weather, pandemic, etc.) and a clear performance failure, that small claims courts typically find in favor of the little guy (that would be me). I kind of like my chances in this instance.
Additionally, I will also leave scathing reviews detailing the (provable) facts, regarding your company and your failure to complete a simple task, on Google, Yelp, Angi, and any other platform I can find.
Frankly, this whole situation is stupid. There is no reason your Orlando staff couldn't have gotten this done easily and quickly.
Respectfully,
